Designer Label "Riwii MahQ" enthralled the spectators at FASHIONOVA 2014

Young fashion designers duo  Mahak Khanna and Rimanshu Patel’s collection entitled ‘Entangled’ and ‘Elegantly Unify ‘respectively  under their couture label “RiwiiMahQ” set the stage on fire at the FASHIONOVA 2014 fashion show organized by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Raibareli.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor lends her voice for Ek Villain’s background score

Actress Shraddha Kapoor is enjoying high time for her these days and involved in multi-tasking these days as she recently lend her voice in the background score of Balaji Motion Pictures’ Ek Villain, in which she is starring in the lead role opposite Siddarth Malhotra.

Ek Villian’s director Mohit Suri was so impressed with her voice of Shraddha Kapoor's in the trailer of Ek Villain that he decided to take Shraddha Kapoor's voice beyond the song and convinced singer-composer Raju Singh to integrate her voice in the background score of the film. Hence Shraddha Kapoor came to the recording of Ek Villain background score at Raju Singh's studio at Sangeet Bungalow, Juhu and spent some amazing moments with Raju Singh, Mohit Suri and Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures at the recording.

“In Ek Villain, the background holds a very important part as it is the love story of a villain and one needs to keep the darkness in the romance element as well," explains Raju Singh. “Mohit has amazing music sense. And I felt this even with his first film Zeher and all his movies till date. His sensitivity towards portrayal of relationships never ceases to amaze me. This time, Mohit mentioned Shraddha and the moment I heard Shraddha’s voice, I knew here was a singer with amazing potential.”

Ek Villain marks the first time a mainstream actress is not only just singing a song but also lending her voice as a crucial part of the background music. Music is in Shraddha Kapoor’s veins, with her grandfather Pandrinath Kolhapure being not just a celebrated singer and a vichitra veena exponent, but the cousin of singers Lata Mangeshkar andAsha Bhosle as well. Shraddha's mother Shivangi Kapoor and aunt Padmini Kolhapure have lent their voice to films as well.

“Raju Singh has this never-say die attitude. He will work on a film to the fullest, never mind night or day. And this has always inspired me,” admits Mohit Suri. “We work on background at times all night and back again in an hour and a half. And now, I am glad Shraddha is also a part of this creative process with her soulful voice.”

Shraddha grins, “when Mohit first heard me sing, he said, hmmmm…. And that is it. I am so glad I am here.”

Incidentally, the response to the Ek Villain  trailer has been phenomenal with close to 2 million hits and  rising in just seven days. Directed by Mohit Suri, Ek Villain, a romantic thriller produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, stars Siddarth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor & Ritesh Deshmukh, and is all set for a June 27 release.

RED LiVE presents ‘Latt lag gayi’ with Shalmali Kholgade in Concert

The rising Bollywood singer Shalmali Kholgade enthralled the music lovers in Bhopal, in an energetic music concert ‘Latt Gayi Lagi’ presented by India’s largest radio network, 93.5 RED FM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at BSSS College, Habibganj. Under its intellectual property ‘RED LiVE’, RED FM provides all round entertainment to its listeners by hosting live concerts and music gigs across India.

The ‘Balam Pichkari’ and ‘Main Pareshan’ hit maker, Shalmali made the audiences groove to her songs at the RED LiVE concert. These days, the singer-cum-songwriter is blazing high with her latest hits 'Besharmi Ki Height' and 'Shanivaar Raati' from the film Main Tera Hero. The singing sensation gave a high energy performance with her latest and the greatest super hits.

Vivanta by Taj presents Manhattan Short 2014 in India - Call for Entries

For the many uber-talented short film-makers in India, it’s time for the proverbial knock of opportunity. Manhattan Short, the international platform which showcases, celebrates and awards short films from across the world has given a call for entries. The film movement which begins now will culminate in a six-day festival across the world including Mumbai this September-October. Championing the voice of the Short Film genre along with Manhattan Short is Vivanta by Taj, Manhattan Short 2014 in India's chief patron, which was associated with the festival in India last year as well. Having had modest beginnings in 1998, the Manhattan Short has today become the most sought after platform of its kind. Dedicated to the short film genre and witnessing hundreds of entries from across the world every year, the festival has long established its global exposure.

Unlike its older, more different contemporaries a la Berlin, Cannes and Toronto festivals which have juries, the Manhattan Short is powered by the audience. This means that the audience that comes in to watch the films votes the winners. This year, Manhattan Short 2014 in India is rooting for an Indianfilm to win the global competition.

The top three film-makers from India will get a paidopportunity to work with Vivanta on an exciting project.

The festival’s credibility coupled with India’s indie film scene growing with surety have attracted huge numbers of participants and cinema lovers to the competition’s entry rounds and final screenings.
