Shikha will be transformed from an ordinary, simple looking girl to a beautiful and desirable young woman and she has to face this major change head-on.

Life will come full circle for the timid Shikha, who was duped and mislead by rosy dreams of a marital life only to realise that she was merely a pawn in a cruel game plan of her beloved husband.

While most may break due to the grief of betrayal, a few fight back with rejuvenated energy to face the world yet again! Amidst her agony, Shikha will arise like a phoenix from the ashes, donning a completely glamorous look and with a new determination to extract her revenge.

Shikha will be seen in an ultra-modern avatar while she plans her revenge on her ex-husband Sameer (Vikas Manaktala) who had tried to kill her for his selfish motives.

Transforming Shikha to achieve this and help her re-claim her lost confidence will be creative designer Swapnil Shinde, whose vision and support allows Shikha to discover her core of confidence.

Talking about the transformation Swapnil Shinde says, "It gives me immense pleasure to get associated with Sony Entertainment Television and its extremely popular show Mein Na Bhoolungi. SONY has always lived up to its mantra of offering unique and exceptional entertainment to its viewers. It was great fun to work on a new appearance for Aishwariya. The 'revelation' gown for Aishwarya exemplifies glamour, sex appeal and ethereal beauty... The bustier of the gown is made in metallic golden sheeted fabric, whereas the skirt is made of fluid chiffon inspired by the Greek goddesses. The idea was to make Aishwarya look like she has been moulded in gold to give her a strong and confident appeal."

Shuddhi has been shelved, says Kareena

In an exclusive conversation with zoOm, Kareena Kapoor mentioned that the movie Shuddhi has been shelved. However, going by Karan Johar's latest tweet, the director has announced the release of the film in 2015 and is currently finalizing the cast. What is cooking between the two? Is it a case of sheer miscommunication or troubled paradise?

As previously reported by zoOm, Kareena was unsure of starring in Shuddhi as the film was delayed repeatedly. However, since the news of Hritik opting out of the movie came about, Kareena assumed that the movie has been shelved. But the recent tweet by KJo indicates a lack of communication between the two. While Karan announced the revival of Shuddhi to the entire world, why wouldn't he want to keep Kareena in the loop?

At various occasions, Karan has addressed Kareena as his little sister, while Kareena has always maintained KJo to be her friend philosopher and guide. So what went wrong between this brother-sister duo? Karan also mentioned in his tweet that he will announce the cast of the film shortly. Does that mean that he is re-looking at the cast altogether and Kareena doesn't feature in that list? According to the rumor mills, Ranveer-Deepika were being considered for Shuddhi, but since the dates have finally been announced, is there a possibility that they might be finalized?

It's a known fact that Deepika's career graph is on a high these days and looking much stronger compared to Kareena's. Can this be the reason for Kareena's loosening grip overKaran Johar's movie?

IFFD once again set to provide platform for the young Fashion designers

After the phenomenon success of the previous edition of fashion extravaganza India Runway Week, the India Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD) is once again all set to provide the young talents of the fashion industry with an extraordinary platform to showcase their talents with the help of events and concepts like Fashion Summit, India Runway Week (with the support of Premia Group), IFFD Calendar and many more. These platforms provide an opportunity for young designers to display their work to the prospective buyers and establish themselves with the help of media.

Fashion Industry is constantly revolving and it is getting increasingly challenging to get noticed. Our Indian celebrities prefer international brands rather carrying young designer work simply because of brand recognition.  To break this trend, IFFD is working to provide support to the creative designer so that we Indian can truly display our creative talents to the world at large.

“Fashion designing itself is a very strenuous profession. With mushrooming so many fake designers, we felt a  strong need for a forum where we can give a platform to these brilliant designers and help them to establish themselves so we brought IFFD” Avinash Pathania, Founder, IFFD. Adding to his view Kiran Kheva (Co-founder, IFFD) summed “I have personally witness many young designer being forced to change career as the scope seemed limited. However the situation has improved with the invent of multi brand designer outlets and increasing platforms for young talents.” she points out.

“In comparison with ten years ago, the situation is really much better for young designers now. In the past five years we have seen increase in multi brand retailers, and few platforms for young designers have been set up like Premia India Runway Week” says Tarun Shienh, CMD at Premia Group.

Marketing is in inclusive step for designer.   Young designer must have an commercial  approach along with the artistic view so that it provides a the client a reason to justify the cost.  However, young designers are often priced in the same bracket as established ones underlines.

“What made me determined to show my label at India Fashion Summit was that I saw big brands fail and mediocre brands succeed. Sometimes it about right mix of marketing . You need to have a good platform to showcase your work, be visible, have faith, and it works” explains Rosy Ahluwalia who showcased her work for the first time at India Fashion Summit in year 2012. As Swati Modo (Shoe designer) points out: “At IFFD platforms, what counts is the freshness in the design”. “I was looking for a platform which was fresh and support young talent. IFFD is supporting young designers like me. ” explains Saurabh Khandelwal who was part of first season of Premia India Runway Week.

The young designers often act impulsive and look for shortcut, trying to skip stages. “Some of them, when they graduate, think the market’s waiting for them. The best advice for anyone who intends to set up their own brand is to work for a big brands or another designer for a good two or three years. Training with one brand then another, learning about the clients, retail, building a collection, buying materials, etc definitely helps. From there you can take the step forward and set up your own brand, your own network of influence in the press, within the industry, etc.” explains Avinash Pathania. Raakesh Aggarwal worked under Tarun Tehiliani for years, this is where he learned so much and enabled him to get to where he is today. Setting up your own brand is not the only solution for a young designer. Great careers can also be had in the studios of the big name houses.

With intricate embroidery, majestic silhouettes and shapes, the collection was a fabulous blend of diverse colours, textures and fabrics that were very versatile and eye catching.

Twelve lit clusters of lamps lined the ramp to create the magical effect of the past for the show, which was a breathtaking array of the most exquisite embroidery and craftsmanship.

From the first off-white collection of kalidaar kurtas with gotta work, saris in flesh tones with intricate weaves and brocade pallavs, to the crinkle white silk lehenga with the mini choli; the collection promised to be a bride’s eternal dream.

Preeti not only scored with her generously embellished bridal wear but the amazing cholis were mind boggling in their cut and construction.

Adding on black as a very formal colour, the black silk sari with the eye catching booties, the zig zag work for the empire line kurta worn with embroidered palazzos and the royal purple lehenga with front tie-up net cover were perfect additions to the show.

The final lin-up of heavily encrusted ensembles with triple colour tones of purple/fuchsia/orange and saffron/green/shocking pink proved that Preeti’s unconventional shade combinations could turn into stunning offerings. While most silhouettes were voluminous, the long lean kurta made a surprising entry amongst the panelled flared versions.

Embellishments covered the garments, though at times the embroidery was reserved for the ornate hemlines, while the plunging low neck necklines were accentuated seductively.

The front row celebs included Vidya Malvade, Rohit Roy, Shibani Kashyap, Alvira & Arpita Khan, Tushar Kapoor.

When brides want to make a regal memorable entry on their wedding day the “Royal India” Collection by Preeti S Kapoor will make a perfect impact.

Samvidhaan: The Making of the Constitution of India, a film by Shyam Benegal

“Telling the story of the birth of a nation is never easy. Especially if that nation is as big and diverse as India,” says Shyam Benegal about ‘Samvidhaan – The Making of the Constitution of India’. “Our founding fathers took 2 years 11 months and 17 days to frame our constitution. The story of telling how they did this has nearly taken us that much time.”

Samvidaan is a 10 part mini-series produced by Rajya Sabha Television that will go on air beginning March 2 at 10 AM every Sunday. Written by Shama Zaidi and Atul Tiwari from a concept by Rajya Sabha Television, the series stars Sachin Khedekar as Dr B R Ambedkar, Neeraj Kabi as Mahatma Gandhi, Dalip Tahil as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Utkarsh Majumdar as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajendra Gupta as Dr Rajendra Prasad, Tom Alter as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Rajeshwari as Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, Narendra Jha as Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Divya Dutta as Shrimati Purnima Benerji and Ila Arun as Hansa Mehta among 150 others in the series.

“India is the largest democracy in the world. It has more language and ethnic groups than any other nation. Despite the diversity and its many contradictions, India has travelled a great deal as a nation. It is the Constitution of India that created the framework for a strong, vibrant and progressive nation. The inspiring story of the making of our constitution has never been attempted before. At Rajya Sabha Television our endeavour is to create programs that document contemporary history of Independent India. ‘Samvidhaan’ (the making of the Constitution of India) was a natural progress in this journey,” says Gurdeep Singh Sappal, CEO Rajya Sabha Television who have produced the series.

After more than a year and a half of extensive research during which the writing also commenced, Samvidhaan went on the floor in August 2013. After over two months of shooting at Film City, Mumbai where the set of a replica of the Central Hall of Parliament was constructed. The action shifted to the Parliament House in New Delhi where for three weeks the crew shot extensively on its premises – for the first time that this has been allowed.

Mr. Benegal also said, “Samvidhaan is not really a 10 part series. It is a 10 hour long film. Since it was impossible to tell this story in the two or three hours duration of a cinema film, the format of a mini-series for television was the only alternative. The execution, the camera work, the look and feel of it is entirely cinematic.”

“Before independence we had a feudal, hierarchical and divisive society. To root that out by looking into the future to build a constitution that can last hundreds of years was I think the greatest achievement of these 300 odd men and women who worked on the constitution and Samvidhaan is their story,” said writer Shama Zaidi.

Co-writer Atul Tiwari who also essays the important role of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant says, “It was a challenge to design the story of the designing of a nation. But we are all proud of the way this series has turned out. It is a landmark not only in Indian television, but is an important milestone in the recounting of democratic history of the world. This is a story that has the potential to inspire people around the world.”

Sachin Khedekar who plays Dr B R Ambedkar said, “It was a privilege to play the role of a man who is known as the father of the Constitution. But it was perhaps the most challenging role of my life. What I found most exciting is that what Ambedkar and others said in the constituent assembly, continues to be relevant till date. Essaying the role was hence a real delight.”

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is being played by Dalip Tahil, for the second time in his career. He said, “I had to loose weight for the role. I had to be like Nehru, think like Nehru. It was a challenge, but it has also been a big high to play a man who was an ideologist yet was practical enough to lay the foundation of a modern India. We talk of development today, but the man who not only showed India, but the world how to develop a nation quickly, was Pandit Nehru.”

Neeraj Kabi who plays Gandhi said, “It had always been a lifelong dream as an actor, to work with Shyam Benegal. That I got to do by essaying Mahatma Gandhi is the icing on the cake. It is fascinating to know that though Gandhi never even visited the Constituent Assembly, his gentle spirit guided the constitution. His greatest contribution was that he insisted on having Ambedkar in the constituent assembly.”

A special 23 minute curtain raiser was shown to the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and the members of both houses of the Parliament today. This special capsule was simultaneously shown on Rajya Sabha TV today as members of both houses watched Shyam Benegal’s TV venture after 25 years.
