Chitrangda Singh graced the ramp for AZVA at IBFW 2013

Fabulous gold jewellery by Azva by the World Gold Council and Tarun Tahiliani’s “Kumbhback Collection” along with magical Bollywood star, Chitrangda Singh as showstopper created a dazzling show on Day Three at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. Azva, the associate sponsor of the fifth edition of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 displayed a splendid collection of jewellery created by the top master craftsmen in India.

Azva derived from the Sanskrit word “Ashvaa” which means “Seven” symbolises the seven vows made by couples when taking the Saat Pheras.  The gorgeous collection ranged from 70 grams to over 300 grams for the intricately crafted sets.

Four gold mesh fabric chandeliers hung from the ceiling over the ramp and created the opulent ambience for the jewellery presentation. The show opened with Sufi singer, Harshdeep Kaur who regaled the audience with a medley of foot tapping songs as the models glided down the ramp.

From mini Rani Haars with tiny ruby pendants to floral necklaces and thick intricately crafted cuffs, kadas and bangles the show was a feast of gold jewellery that will give brides a mind boggling choice. 22 carat gold tiny jhumkies and rows of Haars with ghungroo edges twinkled under the ramp lights. 

Impressive chandelier earrings were edged with gold beads and chains of gold were caught at the top with intricate flowers. Double Rani Haars had gold medallions that interspersed them; while armlets, Haath Phools, gold spiral earrings, delicate thin chains with multiple floral insets and lacy chokers created magic.

A perfect complement for the gorgeous Azva jewellery was Tarun Tahiliani’s “Kumbhback Collection” for Autumn/Winter 2013. It was a symphony in saffron in all its gorgeous hues from marigold in ombré embroidery, the colours moved to aubergine. Embellished with zardosi, appliqués, Bandhani, jamavaar, tie and dye, velvet, animal prints, satin and thick jersey, the collection which started with black graduated to the bright hues and moved effortlessly from concept saris and gilets to skirts, kurtis, jackets and dresses accessorised with bags, belts, stoles and armbands,

The mix and match options of the collection were multiple when jersey skirts were teamed with organza ‘kedeo’ inspired jackets. Statement pieces to watch out for were the black Rabadi jacket matched with an asymmetric drape skirt, silk jackets with palazzos and the moulded pre-stitched saris in vibrant blue Bandhani splashed with Shibori and ajrak.

Causing a sensation on the ramp was the rouched flirty chiffon dress and gilet in shades of sunset crimson. It was the Kumbh Mela of fashion that Tarun Tahiliani unleashed on the ramp along with the spectacular Azva jewellery.

Creating excitement as the showstopper was the very lovely Bollywood star, Chitrangda Singh wearing a stunning gold beaded neckpiece and another on the head along with rows of bangles, kadas, bracelets and delicately crafted earrings. Matching the jewellery was the multi coloured asymmetric panelled skirt with a bright red angular jersey blouse.

Bridal jewellery with unbelievable creative design touches from the Azva collection by the World Gold Council along with the “Kumbhback Collection” from Tarun Tahiliani was the ideal offering for the stylish bride.
