Ace fashion designer Stella McCartney recently celebrated
her latest collection with cocktails in a historic mansion on the Upper East
Side. Models played on a giant floor piano and danced to the band in the
ballroom and the library. There was also an exclusive preview of the collection
at an event in London.
The Autumn 2014 collection includes standout blanket coats:
sumptuous, enveloping and comforting. Deconstructed dot and houndstooth
patterns, as well as screen-printed London landscapes were the key prints of
the season. Detailing expressed a punk individuality, breaking away from the
establishment: metal signet buttons and zips with chains – hard-edged but
softly placed in delicate, brushed fabrics.
