Fashion Week Brooklyn Presents "Be Bold, Be Strong" FW2014 Collections

Fashion Week Brooklyn presented a bolder and stronger season than ever before from March 13- 16, 2014 at Industry City! The aptly titled collection theme “Be Bold, Be Strong” holds significant importance as FWB recently received an endorsement by Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams as the official Fashion Week of Brooklyn! Deemed as the Coolest borough on the Planet, Brooklyn has officially stylishly arrived! For the past eight years, FWB has showcased the collections of emerging and established designers based around the world. This season, FWB presented the Fall/Winter 2014 collections of designers based in the USA, South Africa and Finland.
Fashion has gone to the dogs!! Dog lovers enjoyed the latest in pet couture on March 13 and March 15, by designers Warren R. Agee for My Fabulous Puppy and the award-winning pet couturier, Anthony Rubio for Bandit Rubio Couture.

On March 15, in an encore presentation, Bradley Douglas Jordan, a men’s and women’s designer based in Los Angeles debuted his eclectic collection of masks, denim and leather for the second time at FWB. On March 15, Finnish designer, Marita Huurinainen won the crowd over with her lush and colorful collection of fur and wooden wave clogs!

On March 16, 12-year-old designer, Tyann Williams opened the finale show and showcased her Pinky Sez collection and entertaining line up of child models! FWB welcomed South African designers, Richard Fitz and his eco-friendly collection of raw wool garments and Nicole Anne Khoury's seamless figure-hugging women's Ikhonic collection. Lina Teixeira (USA) debuted her interesting, Something Borrowed bridal collection for every type of bride imaginable ranging from sophisticate to bad-ass...and we mean it!

FWB continues to celebrate the local creative community and provide a platform for emerging and established designers and artists. Guests were encouraged to participate in the  SHOOT BROOKLYN campaign with sponsor Gotham Stages (a 10,000 square foot production facility for film, television and photography shoots) and take selfies with friends inside of their huge photo lens!

Guests also received complimentary portraits courtesy of Jonsar Studios and luxurious gift bags filled with natural skin care products courtesty of Love, Aunt Bonnie and Brands With Purpose.

Remaining designers included: Dario Mohr (USA), Iliana Quander (USA), Bridgette Artise (USA), Malcolm Cannon (USA), Marcella Jones-Penn (USA),  April Walker (USA), Thomas Lavone (USA), AKOU (USA), Alicia Pinckney (USA), Shaun Majola (USA).
