Model Arshi Khan declared Miss Maharashtra Global Tourism winner

Model and upcoming actress Arshi Khan was selected and crowned Miss Maharashtra Global Tourism on Saturday 15th February 2014 at one of the sub-events which are part of the ongoing Miss Maharashtra King & Queen 2014 Pageant. She will represent the State of Maharashtra at the Global Tourism glam event and conference - Miss Global Tourism 2014 to be held in April. She will also be seen at the Miss Tourism Universe pageant to be held in Singapore later this year.

Meanwhile the main event - Miss Maharashtra King & Queen 2014 scheduled to be held at a 5-star hotel lawns and poolside in suburban Mumbai at Juhu on Sunday 16th February 2014 has been postponed by two weeks as a sudden and unexpected cloud burst resulting in heavy showers for about 15 minutes in Mumbai on Saturday morning damaged the outdoor stage, sound system and other electrical wiring causing a short circuit and a small fire - which was immediately brought under control by the hotel management.

A spokesperson for Spectra Multimedia - event managers of Miss Maharahstra (King & Queen) 2014 and Newz66.com Media Pvt Ltd in a press statement announced the rescheduling as uncertain weather conditions and major electrical wiring damage including a main power cable fault made the event feasibility uncertain. The spokesperson said, "There has been major electrical wiring damage and it could take more than 24 hours to restore power supply to the beach side venue. Besides in the event of uncertain weather conditions and possibility of rain on Saturday/Sunday night as reported by the weather bureau, we have decided to postpone the event by two weeks. The new date will be announced in co-ordination with the hotel authorities on Monday 17th February 2014.
