The hottest fashion-forward fundraiser of the year is going
retro cool as Mathew Janczewski’s ARENA DANCES announces it’s 7th annual ARENA
Bikini: Cherry Bomb Swimwear Fundraiser Fashion Show. ARIA event space in Minneapolis will be
transported to the hipster 1950’s on Friday, March 21st beginning at 7:30
PM. Described as a carnival-cool runway
swimwear fashion show, modern dance performance, and retro hip party, this
fundraiser promises to be the ultimate Cherry Bomb!
ARENA Bikini: Cherry Bomb, produced by Minneapolis-based
event company, Idea Factory (of The Ultimate Pajama Party fame), launches the
bikini season in the Twin Cities with local designers unveiling their sexy
retro creations. Featured designers for the 2014 event include: Amyanne Alderete, Jay Nelson and Anita Jensen
of PERFECT FIT GEAR and Tim and Thom Navarro of TIM+THOM whose creations will
be featured on the runway by twelve models sourced from a national model call
by Arquette Talent. The highly anticipated
fashion show is designed and produced by stylists Tim Creagan, Catherine Loose,
and Emily Klipp of Style Architects.
Twin Cities “Hep Cats” are invited to deck out in their
‘50’s inspired threads and take a stroll down the Trix & Treat Alley- a retro
den of carnival games, cigarette girls, fortune tellers, tattoo parlor,
cocktails and state fair snack favorites and an after-party with DJ Jesuz Juice
will keep the evening hopping.
The fashion show will be hosted by Carly Aplin, with
celebrity judges Kirk DeWindt, Chris Baglien and L.A. Nik who will decide the
runway’s “Best of Show.”
Experience the choreography of ARENA DANCES Artistic
Director, Mathew Janczewski, as dancers from the company perform excerpts from
ARENA’s newest work, The Main Street Project, which explores how technology
alters our personal connections, and changes the face of small town America.
