John Cross is anxiously anticipating the release of his
first big cinematic production, “Hercules: The Thracian Wars,” directed by the
great Brett Ratner. In the film, Cross plays Lieutenant Markos, who’s character
commands an army of 5,000 strong alongside Commander Siticles, played by the
famous Peter Mullan. Cross’s background in Tai kwon do, as well as his master
swordsman skills, made it easy for producers and casting directors to
acknowledge that he was the right fit for the part. The majority of Cross’s
time filming was spent in heavy coats of armor under the intense Hungarian Sun.
When asked about his return to the states rather than his
home country of Australia, Cross shared with us that “I miss my home and my
family a lot, but I am glad that I moved to the United States because it has
given a unknown actor like me the opportunity to work and share my passion with
the world.” Cross hopes to one day return
to his Australia and share the knowledge and experience that he has acquired
during his time in the US with young film makers back home.
