Bollywood’s one and only International super star and
singer, Priyanka Chopra strutted down the ramp in a white long slit silk kaftan
with a lavish splash of shimmer for bollywood’s popular designer Neeta Lulla at
the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014.
Hundreds of white paper origami birds covered the ceiling of
the venue, to set the mood for a sleek well edited show of eclectic fashion.
Known for her ultra-glam Red Carpet creations and stunning
bridal couture, Neeta’s Diffusion line was a vibrant and scintillating offering
for the fashion conscious woman. It was a blend of Bollywood glamour with
couture chic, as Neeta gave new style directions to her garments.
There was relaxed comfort and simplicity along with
flexibility in the attire with basic construction and easy silhouettes.
Separates played an integral role in the range with tropical hot colours and
subdued Mukaish embellishments making each entry a showstopper. There was a
marked Carnival, Tropical, Aztec influence in the monochromatic collection that
further added to the visual appeal of the garments.
Separating the show with a colour card of brown, blue,
chutney green, printed beige, orange and shocking pink, Neeta showed a line
that will be coveted by women who want style with easy comfort.
Each colour section offered shifts, kurtas with long slit
sleeves, maxis, tube dresses, flared skirts, practical blouses, palazzos,
saris, simple cholis, fluid boleros and organza covers. Breaking the colour
stories were beige Raja Coats in stylish variations – basic to shimmering with
Mukaish work or styled in the angarkha silhouette.
Fabrics were light as air, ideal for sweltering summer
months, with silk, crepe, chiffon, organza and blends making them perfect
working women’s wardrobe options from dawn to dusk.
For sensuous creations that are eye-catching and elegant
Neeta Lulla’s Diffusion collection presented by Reliance Trends will be a hot
seller on the racks.
