The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is all set
to organise the much awaited Delhi International Jazz Festival, the largest
ever jazz festival in the country for the 4th consecutive year from
March 28th to 30th. The festival will be organised at Nehru Park,
Chanakya Puri, New Delhi in which prominent bands and Jazz Artists around the
world will enthral the audiences.
After three fantastic seasons of unparalleled success in
Delhi, the panel has decided to take advantage of new opportunities by adding
new Bands around the world. This year, you will still see your favourite
elements of Jazz world: Ari Roland Quartet (USA), Smarton Trio (Hungry), Black
Slade (Delhi), Tres Butacas (Colombia), Obara Quartet (Poland), Mina Agossi
Trio (France), Joe Alvarez / Trident Jazz Trio (Mumbai), PJ Perry (Canada),
Modern Han (Korea), Ximo Tebar and IVAM Jazz Ensemble (Spain) and Drift (Indian
group).
Conceived by the ICCR in 2011 as a "tool of cultural
contact" spanning Asia, Africa, North America and Europe, the festival
weaves together the message of music and culture. The festival will be held in
the luxuriant green vicinity of Nehru Park with enthrall music playing under
the stars, to euphoric audiences and the best part: entry is free to
public.
