Divya Gurwara, CEO - Bridal Asia and restaurateur Aashita Relan hosted a champagne party at The Royal China for a select gathering to present the bridal collection by Siddartha Tytler and jewellery by Purnima Jhunjhunwala.
The evening saw the presence of prominent ladies from the cocktail circuit of the city. Neha Kapur, Payal Sen, Chandni Nath, Neena Verma, Bela Madan, Shobhna Arora, Sharmila Nath, Tanisha Mohan, Gunjita Dhawan, Nishi Singh, Ala Madhu, Amrita Thakur, Payal Gupta Sood, Devika Sahni, Dimple Fouzdar among others were spotted cheering from their friend and designer Siddartha Tytler’s salon presentation.
For Bridal Asia 2013 collection, designer Siddartha Tytler has played around and used various innovative techniques of surface texturing using the traditional dori embroidery. Evolving the trademark appliqué work into embroidery, the Sicilian lace collection bejeweled with lace and sequins is the highlight of the collection.
The prints are inspired by the 16th century Italian motifs and the colour palette moves around rich jeweled colours – teals, fuschias, orange, turquoise, olives… and the silhouettes vary from anarkali, lehengas, pre-pleated saree gowns, gowns, skirts and jackets for women and sherwani, kurtas and waistcoats for men.
Purnima Jhunjhunwala’s collection includes handcrafted polki, jadau, and diamond jewelry - handcrafted and beautifully designed. Each piece of her jadau and polki collection is designed to perfection and reflects a classic yet contemporary look. The high quality diamond jewelry is a blend of elegance and modernity.
