Jannat fame beautiful bollywood actress looked stunning in
brocade, lehenga, choli and heavily embellished net dupatta when she walked on
ramp as a show stopper for ace designer Shantanu Goenka during the Lakme
fashion Week 2013.
“Kruhun” means black in Kashmiri and Shantanu Goenka’s
glamorous medley in black and gold cast a magical spell on the audience at
Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.
Creating the ambience of Middle East grandeur with a large
canopy covering the stage, mounted deer heads, antique gramophone and telephone
to create the mood for the show; Shantanu ensured that the presentation was
truly regal.
Embellishments took centre stage when Shantanu revealed the
beauty of sequined sheeting, delicate zardosi and beautiful Kashmiri Tilla
work. Added to these crafts was laser cut appliqués, textured brocades, great
sequined cut-work and gorgeous velvets.
Presenting a stunning collection of men’s and women’s wear
inspired by ancient India, Persia and Middle East, the silhouettes for women’s
wear offered flowing Anarkalis, asymmetric jackets, Farsi pajamas and
sensational embroidered saris. The very sexy printed swimwear under seductive
embroidered sheer kaftans was the ultimate in fashion wear. Luxurious gowns
were cinched at the waist and flowed on the ramp with tulle sleeves. Heavily
embellished jackets added a touch of sophistication to net saris, which
followed the print and embroidered story.
The men’s wear collection had sheer chogas teamed with fluid
pajamas, Jodhpuris and waistcoats. Asymmetric hemlines added a masculine flare
to the ensembles as embroidered yokes and harem pants made ethnic male sartorial
statements. Animal prints appeared on velvet garments and angarkhas bringing
forth a royal touch to the look.
Prints added to the grandeur of the ensembles as animal
skins, lotuses, falcons, parrots and peacock motifs emerged in the
embellishments. Heena bodysuits gave a dramatic look to the oriental creations.
Accessories included velvet elephant heels in black and gold for men’s and
women’s footwear, while tinkling anklet straps, buckles, brooches and armbands,
complemented the garments. Hair was adorned with flying parrots, udan khatola,
hair pins and studs for the chignons.
For men and women who want to add some ancient drama to
their wardrobes, the “Kruhun” collection by Shantanu Goenka will create the
right mood.
