Gauri and Nainika presented coastal inspired collection at WIFW SS 2014 Day 1

Gauri and Nainika Karan showcased their Spring summer 2014 collection on the first day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2013 in a spectacular show leaving the spectators amazed with their sense of creativity in their collections.

Thir collection was highly inspired by the colourful coastal settlements of the Amalfi Coast with its terraced vineyards, stunning landscape and sparkling blue waters. With a feel that simply spells 'holiday', the Gauri and Nainika Spring-Summer 2014 collection was designed for the chic travelers.
Created in bright prints  inspired by the multihued landscapes of Positano, Capri and the glamorous lifestyle of the French Riviera, the collection is a journey of sun kissed skin and big floppy hats, of romantic drives in vintage convertibles and chilled margaritas under beach umbrellas. Freer in shape, the styles have been created in a cocktail of prints and vibrant solids with a few pieces in bold umbrella stripes. Fabrics such as chiffon, crepe de chine, organza and microcrepe lend a luxurious feel to the line. The collection is a mix of bold dresses with dramatic drapes, flowing jumpsuits, playsuits and signature floor length gowns, all intended to glamorize a holiday wardrobe.
Inspired by European fashion history, art, music, books, personalities, theatre, old Hollywood, red carpet glamour and pictures of their mother from the 70s, their brand has always had an extremely feminine and romantic design philosophy with styles that are luxurious yet understated. With a strong emphasis on fabric, cut & colour, the designs focus on shape and flattering silhouettes. By combining tailoring with drapery, the garments are meticulously crafted and have a timeless appeal where old world charm, fantasy and elegance are brought bang up to date. Femininity forms the essence of the label where the paradoxical combination of drama and subtlety can be seen in even its simplest styles.
